  1. White privilege is a very real thing and these 7 facts prove that without a shred of doubt. Due to this class I already learned how privilege is a invisible knapsack and learned all about how people try to pretend the privilege does not exist and that its people racial profiling them which is just hilariously backwards and hypocritical. We learned in class that African Americans use less drugs than do their white counterparts, yet they will be caught and arrested almost double the rate. Another astounding fact is that only 14% of-the black population use drugs, but out of those 14, 38% will be caught and sentenced for drug use. These just go to show some facts that without saying it straight up show white privilege. In order to make it even out, the white population needs to stop pretending the privilege does not exist and stand up when they see it occurring instead of accepting it and taking it as a gift for being born white. Richard Sherman’s point about him being called a thug is to me by far the most interesting point made out of the 7 because it was the only one unfamiliar to me and it was also so true. I can sadly admit that i agreed with some of the reports about him when they came out, but then i did do research and found out how he is actually an extremely intelligent individual and that he is correct when white people do the same thing, the word “thug” does not come up but instead its “passion”. That was the most eye opening point for me and made me think about my actions even more.
